Privacy Policy

The short version

We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used. If you write to us or sign up for updates, we use your email address for that and nothing else. We never sell or share your data for advertising.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics (Google). It sets cookies and records the pages you visit, how you got here, your browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. We use it only to understand which pages are useful. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy, and you can block it with your browser’s privacy settings or a content blocker without losing anything on the site.

The contact form

When you use “Contact us”, we receive your message, the topic you chose, your email address and, if you give it, your name. Our server (hosted by Hetzner in Germany) passes the message straight to our support inbox through Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES, in the EU) and does not keep a copy. That inbox is forwarded by Cloudflare to a Google (Gmail) mailbox, where we read and answer it.

Your email address is used only to reply to you. It is never added to a mailing list.

Updates by email

If you sign up for updates (“Follow the builds”), we store your email address, where on the site you signed up, and when. You are added only after you click the confirmation link we email you; we store the date you confirmed. If you don’t confirm, you are not added and we won’t write to you about it again.

We use the address only for short notes about what Weavolv ships. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops them straight away. The list is kept on our server in Germany and the emails are sent through Amazon SES (EU).

Keeping the forms safe

To stop automated abuse, the site and our server count recent submissions per IP address for a few minutes. The address is not stored with your message or your subscription.

Who handles data

• Vercel (USA): hosts the website and processes the requests your browser makes to it
• Google (USA): Google Analytics, and the mailbox our support inbox forwards to
• Hetzner (Germany): hosts our server
• Amazon Web Services (EU): sends our emails
• Cloudflare (USA): runs our domain’s DNS and forwards email sent to our addresses

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted, by writing to support@weavolv.com. You can unsubscribe from updates at any time with the link in any email. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

When what the site does with data changes, this page changes with it, and the date above is updated.
